Why I joined TMM: To get more exposure to biomedical research, take more focused and informative courses than what was offered downtown, and meet like-minded individuals

Honours Project: My current research project in Dr. Lalu’s lab aims to explore the potential of extracellular vesicles derived from regulatory T-cells (Treg EVs) as a treatment for acute lung injury.


Why I joined TMM: Joining TMM gives you unique research opportunities, and the small class sizes make it easy to connect with your peers and professors.

Honours Project: to understand the immunomodulatory properties of exosomes derived from SMAC Mimetics and Type I Interferons in cancer cells


Why I joined TMM: For the opportunity to learn the latest advancements in various fields of research and science, and integrate myself in a research-oriented environment where I can then apply the knowledge I acquire. I also joined for the chance to work closely and collaboratively with my peers and professors and strengthen my communication, networking, and problem-solving skills!

Honours Project: This summer I’ve been screening a glycogene cas9 library to see if knocking out any of those genes will improve CAR-NK cell’s anti-tumour function in tumour micro environments.

Honours Project: Working under Dr. Emilio Alarcón, focusing on synthesizing photoactive collagen-like peptides and assembling them into hydrogels as a material that promotes scarless wound closure.


Reason to join TMM: Joining TMM allowed me to discover my passion for chemical biology research. I enjoyed making new friends and building strong connections with researchers and professors through our small class sizes and research programs. Join TMM!
